Recycle and Relocation of Existing Homes
During the pre construction process Beyond Homes makes attempts at recycling as many materials as feasibly possible. We do so by relocating preexisting homes on the lots we purchase or by partaking in different recycling programs which try to salvage as much of the older homes as possible.

-
Compact Florescent Light Bulbs:
CFL light bulbs produce more lumens per watts then traditional incandescent bulbs and help homeowners save money in replacement costs and power costs over the long run.

-
Insulation:
Creating an airtight home and reducing air leakage is one of the major components in building a sustainable development. All of our homes are insulated with a cellulose/wallbar(formaldehyde free) product rather than fiberglass bat insulation and our cantilevers and joist ends are all sprayed with 2 lb spray foam. The cellulose/wallbar insulation offers an r 3.84 value per inch, mold resistant, fungus resistant, contains a minimum of 75% post consumer recycled content and allows for a custom fit with no gaps or voids reducing the amount of air leakage.

-
Windows:
All of our windows are rated energy star efficient. In addition, because our design team is in house placement of the windows in our homes are done to maximize energy efficiency by carefully placing them based on exposure to the sun.

-
Recycled Materials
During the finishing process we also make valiant attempts at using recycled material without sacrificing the integrity of our designs. If recycled products are not available we always try to align ourselves with products that are environmentally friendly or manufactured in environmentally conscious ways.

-
Recycling Programs:
Beyond homes encourages recycling as much as feasibly possible. Currently the company takes part in both a drywall and lumber-recycling program where materials can hopefully be reused at our other sites or remanufactured and reproduced.

-
Tankless Hot Water System:
A tankless system produces more hot water using less energy than the most efficient storage tank style heaters. Storage tank heaters can build up rust and scale inside the tank where as the tankless water system is heated on demand always providing fresh flowing water.

-
Tree Conservation:
When building homes in mature neighborhoods maintaining some of the historic landscaping is something that we really value. Any tree we can salvage on any of our sites is salvaged and for every tree that needs to be removed from a logistic standpoint is replaced with a new tree.

-
Heat Recovery Ventilators:
All of our units come equipped with HVR systems. An HVR brings in fresh air from the outside, pre-heats the incoming air during the winter and pre-cools the incoming air during the summer. On average an HVR unit is able to capture up to 85% of the energy from the outgoing stale air. Filtered, preconditioned fresh air is delivered when you need it into your home. It provides fresh clean air on a daily basis, helps control humidity levels in the home and helps keep energy costs low.
